I recently acquired a new JX-305 Groovesynth and am working my way through the Quick Start and Owner’s Manual. I have been very impressed so far, but have not yet been able to make the modulation lever work. Pitch bend works great, but no mod. My biggest tip off to a possible problem was when I tried the Turntable function (see Quick Start page 39 or Owner’s Manual pagge 47). I am following the directions exactly, but can’t get it to work. I reset the entire device to the factory pre-sets and tried again without success. How to you get it to work or do I just have a defective box? Thanks in advance.

The modulation lever actually needs to be pushed quite hard. Don't be afraid
to break it - you won't.
If is still doesn't work after you've tried
to push it hard, you should get your box repaired, I guess.

You were right! You have to push it hard, at least the first time (much harder than the mod lever on a A30). It works fine now for patch modulation. The turntable effect also works fine now. Thanks!

Now I guess you should check
out info about the 305 bug.
